According to Buddha

Wisdom is a chisel, love is the sandpaper. Man needs intellectuality, but intellect must be tempered with love. When you carving a piece of furniture, you have to smooth it with sandpaper or it will remain rough. Love is the sandpaper that takes away the harshness of intelligence, and smooths your intellectuality.

cuz i have been lonely
alone in a box of my own
they claim to love me and be near me
but they are all lying
i have been lonely, alone in a box of my stone
and this is the place i now know i belong
It’s my home, home, home, home home home home home

Edmonton, Alberta ~ John Walter houses ~ November 2015.

  1. Very inspiring quote from the Buddha today. Your photography around these museums and sites is very creative. OK, I finally have to ask: the numbers at the top of each blog: are they sequential? If not, is there some other logic to them? And what is today’s number?

    • thank you Bunty…yes the more i read from/about/by the Buddha…please know i’m a sloppy buddhist…clearly ^_^…today’s quote comes from Paramahansa Yogananda…i’m trying to get to original sources…as we know there is a lot of fake Buddha quotes…so who knows :-D…i like white and i like wood so the Walter houses always capture me…as in relation to my number selection…all of my posts are intentional and sequential…in this link you can see more 😀 http://sloppybuddhist.com/define/

thanks for your lovely comment…compose a happy day ~ smiles hedy

  2. great photos again, they paint the time of year

    • it feels like -27 this morning…the sun is rising it will be a bright day…i also love these little houses…but i appreciate forced warm air today 😉

  3. I love the worn textures in these images Hedy. It has such a fall to winter feel to it. Cheers!

  4. Another beautiful b&w series and remarkable quote, Hedy.

  5. Beautiful starkness.
