According to Buddha
Life has a bright side and a dark side, for the world of relativity is composed of light and shadows. If you permit your thoughts to dwell on evil, you yourself will become ugly. Look only for the good in everything so you absorb the quality of beauty.
twenty-five years ago they spoke out and they broke out
of recession and oppression and together they toked
and they folked out with guitars around a bonfire
just singin’ and clappin’ man what the hell happened
then some were spellbound some were hellbound
some they fell down and some got back up and
fought back ‘gainst the melt down
and their kids were hippie chicks all hypocrites
because fashion is smashin’ the true meaning of it
you might as well be walkin’ on the sun
you might as well be walkin’ on the sun

Cascais, Portugal ~ April 2016

Ta, have a good one yourself!
for sure! cheers 😀
Buddha is wise it is hard not to dwell on the hardships in our life, but the light will burn away that darkness. The photos of Portugal are wonderful, I feel so comfortable in European cities and towns they are so made for people and not cars. Yes’ “What Happened?????”. Have a light filled day my friend. Can not wait for the 500th
.
i think the words are possible…of course knowing our shadows can assist us to make choices…and i’m with you Terry…the older i get the more drawn i am to places that feel like there is a real community…an ethic of care for all…of course my outsider view of Portugal doesn’t negate their history but i just felt different there…safe and warm…such beauty and lovely ppl…the light is bright here today…delicious sunshine…ahhhhhh yes 500 i never imagined when i began my blog i’d still be loving it as much as i do…i’m happy you and others enjoy my posts…a quieter soft place on the web…a meditative space…your so kind Terry 😀 thank you for all your comments and good thoughts! compose a happy day…and do you drive motorcycles? will go and check out your works…
Yes I still ride, it is freeing being so open to the elements as you travel. If I had my choice I would pack up the motorcycle point it where the road goes and just head out on an adventure. No itinerary just go until I am done. North, South and Central America, Europe, The Far East…….. I have ridden since I was 10 and actually raced off-road from 1970 till 2008.
It is so nice reading your blog posts they have helped me see things I knew but did not think deeply about and how they open me up to new music I would never listen to. Have a good evening Hedy.
😀 hence your photography on the 500px…yes that feeling of just going with no itinerary…i’ve never done that 😀 in the olden days i was always enjoying dirt biking…never really liked being on the back of a bike…rather be the driver…i appreciate your kind words about my blog Terry…i’m happy to share…and yes wonderful time along with some clouds…which passed…it’s already saturday…have a gooder ~ smiles hedy

Memories make us who we are today

Eddie 😀 thank you…it’s been a peaceful and eventful day…peace received…om 😀
What a cool building with such great details and color. Very nice, Hedy. Have a great day!
thank you kindly Chris…i needed the bright yellow after some rather fresh days here…but today back to delicious sunshine and summer like temperatures..24 😀 will come and visit your work…hope your wood working is going well! 😀
Thank you, Hedy. I’m glad you have some warmer day. I’m about to start a new project and am looking for the right pallet from which to get the wood I want. I like repurposing the wood from old pallets. It has a wonderful distressed look. Cheers.
i love the smell of wood and the woodworking shops…i’ll check out if you posted a piece…mostly have fun creating…that’s the best! happy saturday 😀
I’m still working on sourcing the pallets for wood but have a good lead. Cheers!
I like the thought here ~ what you focus upon is what you become…a good thought for a photographer to carry and ponder throughout the day. Great perspective on your final shot.
i’m always in the process of becoming…or being…and yes the puppy always captures me those mutts…i love critters very much 😀 sending you joy Randall! 😀
Very nice! 🙂
thank you kindly for saying Lisah…big smiles! 😀
Ahhh, that’s the thing about that glowing shade of gold caught in glowing sunshine: we are indeed walking in the sun
you know…you walk and look and photograph…it’s a wonderful feeling…thank you Penny…have a happy snapping day! 😀
This yellow is uplifting
i agree…for me the deep warm tones…i also the tiles…it was just what i felt like seeing after a few grey days here…sending you joy Gavin 😀
And you , dear Hedy, have absorbed the quality of beauty in every one of these photographs.
Alison
