According to Buddha
Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress.
oh, saturday night
mmm, everyone’s having fun
i’m down at the laundromat
trying to get my washing done
like I done before
time and time again
watching the clothes go ’round
another week sees its end

Very creative, Hedy. I always appreciate people who can find such beauty in the mundane. Cheers!
😀 thank you Chris…you know that is what i try to do here at my sloppy little blog…and i have learned beauty is every where…plus it’s been so fresh here…i’ve had more indoor days…Gavin did give the hint as i do find doing laundry satisfying 🙂 have a wonderful new term…will check Milford Street…many smiles to you! 🙂
It is pretty cold here today, but Boston got a foot of snow overnight. I plan to go out to make some images later today. Cheers!
Great post. my laundry is in the washer right now, :-))). Great photos of everyday items we see at least once a week. Love the selfie, it is so you, very fun. Boy is humankind so preoccupied with being and fitting in, must be entertained by external means, constantly lost in phones, tablets, movies and being entertained. God forbid they have to live without for a while and entertain themselves. Have a wonderful Sunday my friend.
I do laundry more than once a week cause I love it to be organized…I use different kinds of soaps and I organize and sort…I’ve had many laughs with friends about my obsession…I think it’s in my Dutch blood…🤓😉☺ happy washing dear Terry! Play some good tunes too 🤗
OH yes us men, everything goes in one load except new clothes. I keep it simple and fast, I do not like laundry but it has to be done. Have a great week.
yes tea towels do not belong with bed sheets for example…i can picture what you say…i have that shock face 😀 giggles!
HAHA, I do keep somethings separate, like kitchen towels, bath towels, bedding, and garage towels. They are all washed by themselves. I was taught well, but also don’t have delicates or whites I am worried about. HAve a great week.
Giggles you have got it! Garage towels from your bikes yes 😳 for sure separated…you have a fun week too Terry ~ many smiles your way! 😀
Marvelous set of images, Hedy. Looked through a number of times. 😊
Thanks kindly Jane appreciated ☺ compose a wonderful week! 😀
I can’t imagine not analyzing myself–I think I over-analyze. I will look at my laundry differently today–such great pics! Love that button pic–so simple, yet so perfect and lovely to look at. Took me a long time to figure out what the next image was–laundry soap? Well done! 🙂 Hope you’re warm on this chilly day!
Reflective turns are part of my being too Raven…I carry enough memories on my back 🤓 I too love learning along the way…yes tide wash tablets…yes a super cozy day and now dinner with friends perfect way to end the weekend! Have a wonderful day Raven sending you warmth ☺❤️
Oh, I know this one well. Unlike being happy when a waiter at my favorite eatery, I’m only depressed when the laundry attendant welcomes me back like an old friend.
😀 😀 many smiles Steven…that’s a wonderful image…compose a funny day ~ smiles hedy 😀
oh, gosh, love these, Hedy, what a creative way to capture the everyday routine… suddenly doing laundry and ironing is not so boring lol :)) love the hangers and your selfie, so fun 😀
😀 thank you Alexandra…i took a workshop last spring and one assignment was photograph for one week in one room where you live…i did my kitchen…but with the Lisbon laundry and Gavin’s idea…my laundry room was the one i played in…and yes the selfie was a happy accident as i playing with settings first 🙂 happy monday ~ smiles hedy
Hedy, was it an online workshop? sounds like something I need too… 🙂 have a wonderful week ahead xoxo
no a group of 5 with a photographer of 35 years experience….at his house…it was so wonderful…i really enjoyed the small group and his teaching methods and i had weekly ‘homework’…i loved it 😀 …there are some free on line courses apparently one from Harvard for 10-15 hours…reminds me to look it up further…might be worth a peak 🙂 https://alison.com/learn/photography
oh, thanks for the link and ideas, Hedy ♥ a small group and experienced photographer lecturer is the best by all means! alas I do not have the time at this point, an online course with assignments and a mentor and critiquing is what I need… will have a look at the link you refer to, please share anything else that comes to mind… thanks much again ♥
oOo…I love it.
fun shots.
thank you Gavin! satisfying for me…appreciate your thoughts as they spurred me onto thinking about my laundry…although it’s not nearly as attractive as Lisbon’s …happy Monday ~ many smiles hedy 😀
Reblogged this on luc20090's Blog.
I missed the post yesterday but today is perfect…it’s laundry day here today!! I try to be a little more mindful as I work my way through all of it, using your wonderful photographs as a guide. Best wishes for your day, Hedy.
It was a good day…I think I probably do laundry nearly every day 😳 no comments allowed on that though 😉😀 have a great week Mic!
so great photos of details of a everyday thing. Great work, Hedy. 🙂
Some people get hung up on washing clothes,
Others just wonder where the other sock went
&
why there are always more hangers, but the shirts keep falling on the floor.
Great sequence. Take care. 🙂
yes i understand that Joseph and i like that ‘hung up’…it’s weird how socks do disappear 🙂 thank you for your thoughtful words…i’m having quiet days…rebooting 😀 thank you kindly ~ smiles hedy 🙂
There’s something very tender about these, Hedy. I’d really like to share the self portrait on http://strataoftheself.wordpress.com if you would give me permission. 🙂
sure Ashley…i give you permission 😀 tell me what i need to do ok ~ smiles hedy 😀
Yay! Thank you, Hedy. You don’t have to do anything. I will credit you and include a link back to your blog and I’ll let you know when I post. 🙂
