According to Buddha

The secret of success and happiness is inside you. If you have found success and prosperity outside, but not inside, you are not truly successful. A millionaire who is not happy is not successful. I don’t mean that if you have a million dollars you cannot be a success. Whether you are rich or poor, if you get happiness out of life you are a real success.

and i feel like
some bird of paradise
my bad fortune slipping away
and i feel the innocence of a child
everybody’s got something good to say

Edmonton, Alberta ~ Lunar New Year ~ 2017

  1. I agree. Beautiful pictures.

  2. Happy New Year. Great images, Hedy. Boston does not have their New Year celebration until mid February. If the weather is good I hope to get some images. I hope all is well and you are staying warm. Cheers

    • it was such a fun time Chris…i was able to move about freely…with so much excitement in the air…surprised by the fireworks…it’s fresh again here today…but it January so we know 😀 hope your week is going well ~ smiles hedy 😀

      • It is a busy week but I think they will all be busy until mid-March. Fresh would also describe the air here again. It is seasonal and a good warm fire makes all the difference. I hope your week is going well, Hedy. Cheers!

  3. Wonderful New Year photos and yes we must have happiness to be fully successful. Have a wonderful Sunday Hedy.

    • and happiness will emerge…i learned this Terry…it was a fun time! 😀 Happy Chinese New Year is xin nian (new year) kuai le (happy) in Mandarin, and it’s pronounced shin nee-an kwai le (as in the French le).
have a good day Terry! smiles hedy

  7. i’ve studied feng shui extensively, as i discovered i already had a natural propensity to do interior design in the feng shui way….

    ….but i’m not a fan of Chinese superstitions…
but then again i don’t believe in things like the Devil either.

    • well i did feng shui the bathrooms in our home here…have you made your home feng shui (ed) i learned from another person a little bit…and Gavin i’m not into the devil either…i’m a sloppy buddhist…i follow no one…i just gather goodness and beauty around me…and read a little along the way…i hope you have a happy day! smiles hedy

  8. Beautyful! 🙂

  9. Happiness …so difficult to grasp

    • but possible in the moments…in just now…and sustaining it…that does become our work at times…difficult but worth it…big smiles and a hug! 😀
