According to Buddha
Untrained warriors are soon killed on the battlefield; so also persons untrained in the art of preserving their inner peace are quickly riddled by the bullets of worry and restlessness in active life…The schools should educate young students in this art, and in how to develop calmness and concentration.
standing, on the edge of forever,
at the start of whatever,
shouting love at the world.
back then, we were like cavemen,
but we map the moon and the stars,
then we forgave them.
we will meet you where the lights are,
the defenders, of the faith we are.

near Rossio Square in Lisbon, Portugal ~ April 2016.
How fast we grow, almost beyond our knowing. Then suddenly one day,
we wake up in a world that has changed.
Thought provoking post, as most are here, aided by curious photos
Wasn’t it a gorgeous Full Moon? enjoy every day, Eddie
thank you kindly Eddie 🙂 appreciate your comments always…and yes fast beyond our knowing…this was a surprise in the Rossio Square in Lisbon…as a past academic i know our institutions do not condone initiation rituals for freshmen/women…that i/we know of anyways…in Portugal the term praxe describes the whole of student traditions in universities…as an outsider i knew what this was and i was told not the photograph the event but as i told them you are in a public space and i am going to document a tradition that i do not see here in Alberta…
we’ve been covered in soft grey clouds with snow and it’s been very fresh all week…-31 to -22…warm air is arriving apparently this week…and i’m eager to be outside…but i’ve seen the moon through the window…apparently this moon is bringing shifts and changes…i’m prepared 😀 have a gorgeous day Eddie ~ many smiles hedy

Besides training, students should stay off social media to preserve their inner peace. Worry and restlessness are two symptoms of too much Facebook!
Ahhhhh yes Emilio symptoms of addictions…always that line of use and abuse…choose our habits carefully…have fun photographing outside…it’s going to be a warm week here can’t wait to see the snow melt ☺ smiles hedy 😀
‘how to develop calmness and concentration’.
i work to be the witness so i watch my reactions…I’m a routine kind of being…I like rhythm…and I enjoy digging a deep well…but also accept my monkey mind…I’m also mediating a little more each day…but it’s not always easy Gavin…photographing is very calming for me…a sort of walking mediation ☺ do you find photographing calming as you concentrate on one thing? Smiles ☺
Yes. Sometimes calming….
and probably your music…have a calm day Gavin 😀 ~ many smiles hedy
