traveling north, traveling north to find you
train wheels beating, the wind in my eyes
don’t even know what i’ll say when i find you
call out your name, love, don’t be surprised

it won’t be long
it won’t be long
it won’t be long

The Alberta Railway Museum,  Edmonton Alberta ~ July 2017

  1. Excellent.

  2. Very nostalgic for me. Even though I am not a Victorian, Wild West Cowboy, East Coast Commuter, I can remember a trip to Chicago with my grandmother back in the 60s.

She packed lunches in a box, which was very antiquated at that point. Then we embarked.

    Thanks for a memory revived.

  3. Kept my backpack closeby in those ‘younger days’ always searching for
that elusive something. Then ‘it’ found me.
Perfect photos (empty well used railroad cars) to illustrate the emptiness of searching
before discovering the fullness of being
    marvelous post Hedy.
    OM Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

    • Humble thank you Eddie I appreciate your words….train metaphors have also been teachable moments for me…thanks so much for your teachings 🙏😀 peace peace dear Eddie 😀

  4. Great pictures taking me back to the fifties in Hungary. Congrat…

  5. I love these pictures. The colours! The smell of a railwaystation on a foggy morning. The world awaiting you.

    • Oh yes Petter I know the world awaits…traveling in the Netherlands by train is also very fun! Have a colourful day 😀

  6. ” a portable paradise”…wonderful. Very nostalgic train photos. I spent a lot of time on them in childhood with adults who didn’t drive.

    • Yes so easy to imagine possibilities of what it would be like…I really like these spaces Van 😀 thanks kindly for your comment nice to hear from you! Hoping your summer days are treating you well 😎☀️

  7. Stunning colors and textures, Hedy. It is amazing to think human beings have produced such tactile wonders over the years–the impressed curves and rivet heads of suitcase buckles, the modularity of chain links, the flat tableau of peeling paint, the weft of cushions and the smooth, hard tops of tray tables. And the color! Makes me think our world today is so much more rooted in glass and plastic. Our confused modernity, perhaps. Our fixation on smooth and unblemished ideals. Every picture here speaks to me of what works, what is comfortable, what is familiar…

    Peace
    Michael

    • when my father came to Canada he worked on the trains for a bit…I’ve only travel once here from Calgary to Vancouver when I was 18 and left home…I had a room and I still remember the best sleep ever 🤓 traveling on trains in other countries has always been fun for me…I like the pace …thanks kindly for your comments 🙏 appreciated hedy 😀
