According to Buddha

At times life seems to be a cruel game. The only justification for it is that in reality it is only a dream. That is why there are so many differences in the world. Some people are poor, some are rich, some healthy, some sick, and so on. You have had many experiences through many incarnations and you will have others in future incarnations, but they should not frighten you. You must play all parts in the motion picture of life, inwardly saying: ‘I am Spirit.’ This is the great consolation that wisdom gives us.

Hippopotamus, Calgary Zoo ~ October 2017

  1. Ah, a day swimming with the hippos. I assume they were in the water and you were safe on dry land, Hedy. It looked abstract at first, then I realized what it was. Cheers!

  2. Things ‘appear’ and disappear as if they have substance when in fact they do not.
Reason being is that ‘all this is an illusion’.
    breathe in,
    breathe out,
an excellent post, appropriate for the time
    have a glorious day Hedy

    • thank you kindly dear Eddie 😀 it’s true ‘all this is an illusion’…hoping your thanksgiving was joyful and glorious ~ many smiles hedy 🙂

  3. So far life has been an adventure for me, one to be enjoyed and savored like a meal. We do not have power over the outcomes and should always strive for the best but accept the way life has been handed to us. Strive for living fully and happily and pursue your passion. Wonderful captures of the Hippo in his watery place of living. Happy days Hedy.

    • it is an adventure…along with those waves to navigate…or stay submerged for a while and then surface…happy thanksgiving to you and your loved ones Terry…i liked this totem…

If Hippopotamus has come across your path:

h/she is reminding you that if you have become bored with your life you have the creative power to stir things up and revitalize things by starting new projects, goals and spiritual connections. Do this by following the tried and true methods of reaching your goals and focus on the success of your projects. Take the time to dream your dreams and choose the path that will be right for you to achieve them. Understand that you will need to commit to your goals in order to fulfill them.

i find this creature fascinating…i wondered about the repeated turns and rolls…over and over…i could have watched longer…

  4. What an adorable creature! I love the pics of his tummy and toes!
I will work on reminding myself, “I am spirit.” Thank you for sharing! <3

    • i know the skin and hair…teeth…cute tail too…although it was the hippo’s eyes that captured me….thank you dear Raven Wolfe <3 have a happy evening 😀

  5. The hippo spirit lives! Yea!! Like a dream, like a fantasy, spirit and matter are endlessly coalescing and morphing and dissolving – but what a nice way for matter to take form, for a bit. So much life and movement in these images!

    • thanks kindly Lynn for your thoughtful reflection…endlessly coalescing and morphing and dissolving…i like that…have a dreamy day 😀

  6. how courageous
    getting so
    close 🙂

    • apparently North America’s largest indoor hippo tank….i don’t know anything about hippos David…other than watching them gracefully swim…it’s most fun to see other humans react…have a fun day…giggles 😀

  7. Wonderful. Love the photos!

  8. Oh that beautiful hippo … I feel like I could touch him. I am the spirit❤️

  9. Very good. Hippos are extremely dangerous animals. We had a close encounter with a few on the Victoria Nile, many, many years ago, in East Africa. No harm done though. But your photos are superb.

    • i thought they were weak in camera…so i played with post edits…mostly fun just for me…i know nothing about hippos…this one seemed graceful, yet it was the repetition of the movements…over and over…you had some many travel experiences Brian…thank you for sharing your knowledge appreciated…smiles hedy 😀

  10. Beautiful and fun.

  11. omg great! 🙂
