According to Buddha

May I become at all times, both now and forever: a protector for those without protection; a guide for those who have lost their way; a ship for those with oceans to cross; a bridge for those with rivers to cross; a sanctuary for those in danger; a lamp for those without light; a place of refuge for those who lack shelter; and a servant to all in need.

i awoke so cold and lonely
in a faraway place
the sun fell cold upon my face
the cracks in the ceiling spelt hell
turned to the wall
pulled the sheets around my head
tried to sleep, and dream my way
back to you again

Dom Luís I Bridge, Porto Portugal ~ April 2018

  1. Sometimes dreams are the only roads left to the people we’ve lost. Those roads, we often come back to.

  2. I love all of this, Hedy. The black and white photos, the song lyrics, and the Buddha’s words! Especially, I love the laundry, bridge and street art pictures. 🙂

    • you’ll love Portugal Cathy…it’s a special country to me ☺️💫🤓 thank you for saying ~ smiles hedy

      • Since I’ve been to Lisbon, Evora and the Algarve before, I know I do love Portugal. I could go back and explore more many times! 🙂 Have a great day!

  3. Powerful heart tugs. Thank you Hedy. 💛

  4. Thoughtful images bring Buddha’s message to life
    let the peaceful waters flow

    • times are strange Eddie…I imagine a different world…but try my best everyday to be peaceful and calm…and I love water ☺️💫🤓 sending you joy Eddie 💫☺️

  5. This Portugal series needs to stop before it persuades me to move…

    • just go Gregory I’m sure you’d love it…it’s a magic country…I wanted to there when I was 8 years old and now I’ve been 2x…I will go again I have no doubt…I believe I could live there 🤓💫☺️ have a happy day ~ smiles hedy 😁

  6. I like the face looking out at me. Cheers!

    many smiles to you 😊😊😊💫✨

  10. Beautiful post Hedy, I love the images from Porto. Visited Belém in Lisbon many years ago, it took my breath away. Great lyrics from the Pogues, one of my favourite songs of all time is ‘The Broad Majestic Shannon’.

    • thank you Kindly Simon…I love Portugal from what I’ve seen and experienced…I’d return in a heartbeat…yes Pogues felt/sounded right in my hedy head ☺️💫🤓 compose a beautiful day ~ smiles hedy

  11. Wonderful photos, Hedy.

  12. Your photography is always so decisive — straight to the heart of what it is portraying, and straight to the heart of the viewer

    • humbled thank you Penny ☺️💫 I throughly enjoy playing with my little black box…I wear it close to my heart too…thank you for saying appreciated ~ smiles hedy 😁

  13. Beautifully done, Hedy – those first two images are a great pair!

  14. Coloured flowers. A dark Portugal. And dreams to come back to.
I have always marveled at the precision some dreams have. Particularly
when dreaming of dearly departed. Even their voices are perfect.
    🙂
