According to Buddha

Avoid a negative approach to life. Why gaze down the sewers when there is loveliness all around us? One may find some fault in even the greatest masterpieces of art, music, and literature. But isn’t it better to enjoy their charm and glory?

if you want another secret
can’t back out, or make it
you ain’t ever gonna be it
by takin’ someone else’s away
never take it for granted
you don’t have to understand it
here’s to whatever puts a smile on your face
whatever makes you happy people

Tropaeolum (nasturtium) – my garden ~ Etown, AB ~ August 2018

  1. Wow. A bit of macro-fun. I love the line”Why gaze down the sewers when there is loveliness all around us?” Have a wonderful week, Hedy. Cheers!

    Alison

  4. Wonderful colors and shapes. The beauty.
    Great shots.

  5. These photos are wonderful, Hedy. So rich and luscious. And of course the Buddha’s words are always wise. Happy Sunday. 🙂

  6. Tolle Macros uns starke Farben!

  7. In Yakushi-ji , one of the Seven Great Temples of Nara and head of the Hosso sect of Buddhism, the dedication ceremony for enshrining the chief Buddha, Yakushi Nyorai, was held in 697.
Flowers have a way of lifting the spirit and the fitting quote accentuates your path to create a synthetic vision between art and religion.

Nice close up’s focusing on the edge of a petal or the center of a blossom and eliminating all of the surrounding area. Macro lenses uncover details that would be impossible to detect with the unaided eye and give a new, interesting perspective on the subjects.
Hope you got safely away after getting this intimate with the blossoms of a nose-twister.

  8. so wonderful close and tangible… …and this colors make me smile…. …wow.
Smiles to you over the pond 🙂 🙂

    • now I’m on the same side Markus…yes these are flowers in my garden…it was a hot sunny afternoon…did them with my tiny lenses and iPhone very fun…and a little crazy making 😳🤗✌️💫☺️

  9. Agree totally. It’s taken me a while to understand it, but the main reason I love going back to France every year, besides my “roots”, is the sheer beauty. From Paris to the countryside. Beauty and peace are sacred to me. (Thank you for the reminder)

  10. Finding delight in the simplest of things, will enhance and strengthen joy
    for that most deserving.
The photos of these beautiful flowers illustrate a joy most deserving.
happiness flows like a peaceful river

    • it was so fun and so hot outside…I was in the shade with my phone and little lens and thought what’s inside those little flowers…and as I said they are also delicious ☺️💫❤️

  11. Morning Hedy .. there is so much loveliness about us. Your images are beautiful. A bright colourful start to my day ☀️🌹

    • yees Julie each day I look for beauty…my artist friend has taught me that…and each I know it is possible ☺️🤓❤️ compose a beautiful day ~ smiles hedy

  12. The pictures remind me: each living being is a concentrated tincture of this universe. So amazing…

    Michael

    • concentrated tincture…that’s lovely Michael ☺️💫✌️ hope you’re writing and words are following to the page…I will come a visit 🤓 smiles hedy

  13. This is a very intense exploration of the nastutium’s hidden pleasures, Hedy!

    • it was a few hours of brain and finger power using the iPhone…so tiny with the lenses…I enjoy macro work…also the nastutium’s are tasty…I’ve never grown them before they seem to be taking over part of the garden…probably a weed 🤓😳☺️

      • So you have a little macro lens for your iphone, right? You do enter a different dimension when you get into those flowery depths, and it’s wondrous, isn’t it?
They’re not weeds when you love them!

  14. Lovely and intense images!
