According to Buddha

along the way back AB 16 ~ December 2018

  1. 2de is also the number of the Forestry Trunk Road in Alberta. I loved reading about the Riskan Hope Farm and how they relocated their campground to the Stillwater Farm, 14 miles away, because the government decided to twin Highway 11. In this case it was the way who forced people to move instead of people moving along the way. Nice post Hedy. I enjoyed it.

  2. All of your photos are lovely, Hedy, with wonderful composition. I particularly like the one of the bright red vintage combine situated starkly in the snow-covered field of wind-blown grass — the cold is palpable! Lots to see in a long roadtrip.

    • i enjoy this road trip…albeit it was a tad narly driving out….and yes we have endless land here…it was 8 hours one way 😀

  3. Great mood. And I love that all the pictures are composed horizontally.

  4. I like the sentence ” the path to freedom”. Beautiful snow and pictures.

    • it’s a beautiful and open…could run a long long way 😀 happy new year Alex have a creative and joyful year ~ smiles and hugs hedy 😀

  5. Love all the photos 🙂

  6. Always Amazing! always amazing photography! always amazing quotes
Sending along the very best wishes for a New Year
filled with all your dreams and desires! love, Eddie

    • your kindness is appreciated Eddie…humbled 😀 maybe your new year be filled with joy and all good things ~ hugs and love hedy 😀

  7. Brrrrr. It’s different seeing the snow on the farm and farm equipment. It’s a very different look from the other seasons. Happy New Year, Hedy!

    • yes it was windy Chris…howling winds on those roads…it’s winter here on the prairies 😀 compose a beautiful and joyful new year ~ smiles and hugs hedy 😀

  8. I always like you pictures of the Canadian farmland/country side. Wideness, emptyness and still strangely cosy.

    • yes we have endless land Peter…we could have countries inside of countries…it is strangely cozy…i like the openness 🙂 have a beautiful new year with many adventures ~ smiles hedy 😀 .

  9. Oh the eerie freezing icy stillness. You really captured it.
Happy New Year Hedy. May 2019 be all you could wish for.
    Alison xo

    • Happy new year Alison it was a wonderful time to see our grandson…so fun! sending you all good things for new adventures and beautiful photography ~ hugs hedy xo <3

  10. Mmmmmm. Passenger seat pictures. 🙂

    • huh huh yes indeed Ray you are right…8 hours each way….and my lemon computer is back in the shop so life is limited but so fun! have a wonderful new year and all the best to you and your loved ones 😀 <3

      • You aren’t the first one to do it. I never would do that. 👀 Nobody needs computers. Just get yourself a nice darkroom. Happy New Year. 🎊🎈🎆

        • well yes imagine a time before…I did darkroom in high school in the late 70’s…then the school removed them for safety…

I do like LR for editing but snapped and my iPhone can be fun…

I’ve got my lemon😉back…glad I pay for apple support care…

happy new year Ray…compose another creative year…I look forward to seeing your works…have a happy day ~ smiles hedy 😀

          • For safety? That’s interesting, since there is really nothing in a darkroom that can hurt you. We all switch from Apple phones to Samsung. I got tired of paying big money for phones that weren’t especially innovative. I guess that’s starting to bit Apple now. When I got a deal through Consumer Cellular, I jumped. From a photography standpoint, this phone can’t be beat. 12 megapixels to start with, and the ability to switch to manual and actually set f stops and shutter speeds.

            I’ll do my best. 🙂

          • hmmmmm I’m thinking the developer and fixer’s have/had toxins…that was what we told back then…as teens we may not have been as ‘careful’…I don’t remember it was high school…

we pay a lot for data in Canada…I’m still playing/practicing with the iPhone…it’s fun.

have a creative day Ray ~ smiles hedy 🙂

          • Developer had something that dyed you nails yellowish brown. The fixer didn’t have anything. If you could develop Kodachrome, which you couldn’t, there was something lethal in the developing process. A kind of bleach. Because I always used tongs I wasn’t really exposed to BW chemistry.

I guess we don’t. We have fairly unlimited data and new phones. Our total bill per phone is under 50 dollars US.

My day is over, thankfully. See if you can find my creativity in tomorrow’s post called “One Any Day.” 🙂

          • school safety is huge in Canada…I know this from my past life as a teacher…and we love rules too…
            hmmmmmm here 2 phones 180 per month….

and now I need a coffee as my day has started 🤓😀✌️

          • That’s expensive. But, I got a deal because I’m old.

  11. It is so nice to get away from the city and experience these rural scenes. Wonderful photos. Have a great week my friend.

    • yes it was a joyful Christmas to see our grandson and be with our daughter…so yes the road trip was part of this year as i took the big mutt with us…since she is old and attached to me…a bit too much 😀 have a great new year filled with fun new adventures ~ hugs and love hedy 😀

  12. Lovely photography and… having been raised on a homestead in northern Alberta in the Peace River country… these pictures were like being transported back 50 years in time… brrrrrrrr… I can still feel the penetrating cold when there was moisture in the air under snow-filled clouds.
Quote: “Those who understand the way it is, rather than the way they wish it were, are on the path to freedom.” I would counter that those who see how it is and empower themselves to be the change they wish to see in it, those are on the path to ultimate freedom.

    • the wind and blowing snow was a tad much on the way out Sha’Tara…and yes empower self…to be the change they wish to see in it, those are on the path to ultimate freedom…makes sense to me too 😀 have a joyful new year and thank you for your comments always appreciated ~ smiles hedy 😀

  13. looks really cold.
i so like the last two.

  14. One way directly into 2019 🙂 Wish you a great start and a nice healthy new year ! All the best, Jürgen

    • Jürgen thank you kindly and i wish you and your loved all the best for 2019…sending you creative vibes and all good things ~ hedy 😀
