According to Buddha

Silence is the root of everything. If you spiral into its void a hundred voices will thunder messages you long to hear.

Herd of big horn sheepMt. Norquay, Banff National Park ~ May 2019

  1. These beautiful vibrant vistas shown today allow ourselves to ‘hear’ and ‘see’
    the truth in nature’s plan.
Although I haven’t seen it I do know that Banff is one very special place.
    Thanks for sharing Hedy,
peace is a perfect way to share the day

    • oh yes this was an amazing experience for me…those red chairs…throughout national parks…curious to me…regardless I’ve sat in them wondering about the wild life…asking the sheep to come close…😳 and then boom they did 🤓 which I’m sure is a ritual but being urban well seeing this was pretty cool for me on many levels…I also think about land based knowledge as an outsider…the volume from the bikes was distressing to the sheep…and me…so something about Banff also triggers some disconnectedness…for me…🤔

🤓 I am attaching this short piece…perhaps, you’ve already seen this…I heard comments in Banff that are necessarily troubling…

      https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/the-shady-past-of-parks-canada-forced-out-indigenous-people-are-forging-a-comeback

and I have more images to share of Banffness…I had a wonderful time being in a room without a roof 🙂🙃

  2. Very cool sighting, Hedy. I hope your week is going well. Cheers

    • back in etown…all good…and yes it was amazing to me 😳🙂🙃 and they jump ☺️ hearing the sheep was beautiful…graceful landings too ☺️ have a joyful day Chris 💫

  3. To listen to silence, is to find oneself. The photos are a reflection of what nature gives us to find peace. You are lucky to enjoy that beauty live and direct. Excellent message

    • I am grateful…I am reminded when I see what exists not far from home…thank you kindly for your comments macalder 🤔🤓 compose a beautiful day ~ smiles hedy

  4. I want to live there

    • well…then…I’m going to say…go for it! ☺️🤓 it is a gem location…sending thoughts for your move ☺️🤓✌️

  5. Brexit number? In Canada as well ?

    • hmmmmmm 🤔 not that I know of…politics are pathetic 🤦‍♀️😩…this is Pokémon Rene…😂…now I can imagine theories on Pokemon politics😂

  6. Beautiful and peacefully Hedy!!!

    • it’s amazing terrain Paulo…big rocks and lots of glacier water…truly beautiful 🤓💫✌️ have a peaceful day ~ smiles hedy 🙂

  7. That’s a good article you referenced in the reply above….horrifying, but not at all surprising. It seems the Coast Salish have fared a tiny bit better than many inland tribes, but still, the white person’s understanding is so incredibly primitive and crude, the history so troubled, the destruction so profound, that it’s hard to imagine any going back. But I’m glad people are raising the issue of getting back on their land. And glad you had a good experience, though modern times did intrude….

    • many people and people in positions of power are working to make change…it’s a lot of hard work…unlearning to hard….and I know we can do better…the MMIWG inquiry was released this week…and the TRC findings can move us forward…it’s hard listening…but we also need to participate in the steps…and well our current premier I don’t think he gets it…so weak leaders will not help…ahhhhhh pathetic politics…as you know….now off for a day of shooting fotos 🤓☺️✌️ hugs Lynn have a creative day 🤗

      • As I know, for sure…..I’m glad something’s being done, but yes, unlearning takes time, right? Hope you have/had an enjoyable outing…and another creative day today….

  8. Oh this must have been wonderful to see! I know I’d have been captivated by them, and now suddenly how mad I went photographing the deer in Nara in Japan.
    Alison

    • it was Alison it was amazing…never experienced this before…I was so excited and filled with joy seeing them and the babies…I also remember those Nara deers…I hope you have a beautiful weekend ☺️🤓 smiles hedy

  9. I see the North of Scotland where I grew up as a child.

    • I’ve got a cousin in Scotland…haven’t been there yet…have a creative day Jeb! sending you all good things ~ smiles hedy ☺️✌️💫

  10. i think i see goats

    • babies in the herd…so sweet and the parents protecting them…also the totem meaning of the big horn sheep…it was so cool Gavin…hearing their hooves and the grace with which they move…quick too 😳🙂🙃 have a great day!

  11. Excellent series.

  12. beautiful shots
    and accompanying words, hedy 🙂

  13. Beautiful. Curious mix: Motos and sheep.
    It’s really nice.

    • yes there is a disconnection to me 🤓 but I’m a speck in the place…it was the silence and peacefulness and then the intrusion of loud bikes…they did scare the herd…I didn’t like that part…BUT all before it was so very cool…never seen them so close or so many…it was a gift 💝

  14. Silence… The greatest silence I have ever heard was
Skydiving. Once the plane is gone and you’re up in the air, there is not a sound.
Mountain. Climbing Mont-Blanc and Popocatepetl. The silence of the mountain is unharmed by humans. The air, as in skydiving is magic.
    B. Good.
