According to Buddha

The question we need to ask ourselves is whether there is any place we can stand in ourselves where we can look at all that’s happening around us without freaking out, where we can be quiet enough to hear our predicament, and where we can begin to find ways of acting that are at least not contributing to further destabilization.

  1. Querspange Rheinfelden autobahn number is A861, it’s not the distance or the length..
It’s a bordercrossing between Germany and Switzerland, a “Schengen”-border as Switzerland is no part of the EU. The border there is the middle of the river Rhein.

  2. Such beautiful images Hedy. And I love the quote. Hope all is well with you in e-town. We’re in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur awaiting our flight back to Canada via Japan on the 21st and praying Japan doesn’t decide to shut down all flights into the country like Taiwan just did. Interesting times we live in.

    • 🙏humble thank you Alexandra ☺️ the words are from Ram Dass … I’ve been enjoying his words over the past months 🤓 smiles Hedy

  5. I was trying to guess where you photographed this from, Hedy. It was too close to be from a plane. The bridge makes sense. Have a great day.

  6. Lovely, Hedy. Thank you

  7. Wonderful quote. Although I’ll bet Buddha didn’t really say “freaking out.“ And the photographs – wow. Drone?

    • Yes I’ve been listening to Ram Dass these days…freaking out 😳 won’t be a Buddha word but I don’t know I’m a sloppy Buddhist … now I’m on a bridge walking the mutt 🐕‍🦺☀️ have a creative day ~ smiles Hedy

      • Ram Dass would say freak out. Matter of fact, did say that on many many occasions.

        • I know he was primarily a Hindu 🤓 but he practiced Buddhism so I used his words as a sloppy buddhist ☺️ I really appreciate his thinking….have a lovely evening I saw your beautiful image your work has your signature ~ smiles Hedy

  8. So lovely (pic, quote and song) Hedy, be safe!!!

    • You too Paulo 🌷💕 I’m being anti social…Alberta is in a lockdown mode. Hoping you and your loved ones are safe as well 🤗 stay strong ~ smiles Hedy

  9. oh so timely

      • “Visiting” will be virtual, for a while! But still a real connection, and valued.

          • Come when you can, when it’s safe, & let me know in advance. We’ll get together!

  10. Excellent quote at this time. Stay safe my friend.

    • you too Terry…I appreciated the words from Ram Dass…these days…be well sending joy and all good things ☺️🙃🙂❣️

  11. The images in the photos are open-ended. To me, anyway. I can make of them what I want, which is something I like a lot. See you, Hedy.

    Neil

    • lovely to hear you say that Neil…open ended is best…at least to me…appreciate you saying ~ smiles and kindness your way ~ smiles hedy ☺️🙃🙂😄

  12. Great photos, Hedy! I hope you have found and know that place described in the text. Peace.

    • Humble thank Mic…well 2020 has presented some hard stories to live and yes I have a place by the river…peace and loving kindness to you and your loved ones ~ hugs hedy ☺️🤗💫 compose a beautiful day happy snapping.

      • Thank you, Hedy. I wish the same to you and yours. So many things can be said, none seem adequate. 😢 Take care, my friend.

        • Just sending peace and sunshine ☺️☮️☀️💪 off for a walk I’m the woods….

          • Walks in the woods are good! Hope you enjoyed yours…

          • I do always…there are more humans out with their dogs than ever…I’m imagining happy mutts…restrictions and protocols are in place…are numbers are rising…so let’s hope that flattens sooner than later 🤓 hoping you’re well and safe Mic ~ hugs hedy 🤗💫

    Alison xo

    • I’m gathering my images of the river ice…I’m fascinated with this part of the river…bigs hugs from etown ☺️🤗❣️ thank you for saying…hope to see you soon 💫

  16. OMG. So much ❄️ still… Makes it easier to stay home I guess. I wonder what Buddha’s original phrase for freaking out was? 😉
Some, I think will do so soon…
    Hang on.

    • still more and more…and it’s fresh 🥶I always go outside…yes those are Ram Dass’s words Brian…stay safe ~ hugs hedy ☺️🤗💫

      • I didn’t know Ram Dass. I will research more. yes, it is good to go outside. Today, we took a walk out for the first time in maybe ten days. Many businesses that should be closed are still open: the lady who sells flowers on the corner, cafés who claim to home deliver. Barber shops. A locksmith. A tV repair shop. “Non-essential”, but they will starve if they don’t open.
        Hugs back.
        Brian

        • he died in January 2020…I’ve been listening and reading him since last summer…wise words to me 🤓…well I’m curious about what and who decides what is non-essential…it’s -25 here🤦‍♀️so I’m glad we have a new furnace which broken down at the start of this crisis…freezing to death scares me…we have food and for that I’m grateful…hugs back to you and your loved ones stay 💪❣️
