According to Buddha

The pain of the world will sear and break our hearts because we can no longer keep them closed. We’ve seen too much now. To some degree or other, we have surrendered into service and are willing to pay the price of compassion. But with it comes the joy of a single, caring act. With it comes the honor of participating in a generous process in which one rises each day and does what one can. With it comes the simple, singular grace of being an instrument of love, in whatever form, to whatever end.

my holdings and my land to again
if we were just to take my name
in the springtime of the year
oh how happy you could be here
in the springtime of the year
the sun will burn up all the snows

sun. snow. rain. Springtime in Etown ~ May 2020

  1. Getting intentional blur right is a challenge. Each of these images — color, composition and aesthetic — are terrific! 🙂 Lovely intro thought as well.

    • Thanks kindly Brett…I’ve been playing/practicing doing making these…also different spaces in the woods can look so very different…and well life seems very blurry these days…I’m grateful and hoping you and your loved ones are all safe and good too ☺️💫🌷 sending joy Hedy

  2. In terms of the weather, you get a little bit of everything. Nice images. Have a great week, Hedy.

    • Ahhhh it’s always erratic in spring and well probably all year 🙂🙃🤓 always grateful we have a good new furnace even in May 😂☀️ have a productive week too Chris…I’ll come and see Milford Street 👌

  3. Witnessing the pains and sorrows is heavy on our hearts.
Springtime refreshes our souls and liberates our being.
    Deep breathing clears our minds.
lovely photos and post dear Hedy

    • Yes I feel this sad energy…looking at less news…since everybody knows 🤓😳but the numbers of covid19 deaths 😌 we will need to acknowledge long term care here in Alberta which will be important work…like the seasons dying and death are part of living a life…it’s a mattering conversation needed here in Alberta 🤓 now I’m going to plant some seeds 🌻🌻🌻thanks for your words dear Eddie ~ hugs from my garden 🌷☀️

  4. Every bit of kindness, every bit of art that comes from my pure heart — they all uplift. If we all kept that in mind and put that into practice, things would be measurably better. Beautiful pictures, Hedy.

    • ☺️💫…it’s about witnessing and knowing when to go out and when to stay in for me…and a deep sleep is always my best mediation…then I can be joyful and no one can take that away 🤓 thanks Michael I had fun making them with intention this time. ~ sending all good things ☀️🌷

  5. I love your spring images, Hedy. Even though the winter here in southern California is short. It sometimes chills my bones and freezes my veins. My spring garden wakes me up. Thank you for checking out my blog,

    • Thanks kindly Miriam I’ve enjoyed following writers and other creatives…and I noted your publication and I think that’s good news ☺️🤓 we need more good news 💫 and I happy to follow along and learn more ~ thanks kindly for your comments and compose a beautiful day ~ smiles Hedy ☺️😀

      • You’re welcome, Hedy! I’m working on publishing my first children’s book. I started taking photos as a teenager, but never had time to become a professional. I have too many interests. It’s interesting that you enjoy the Buhddist teachings. 😍 Happy Sunday 😊🤗

        • Well I’m going to keep my eye out…we have a wee starseed….who loves books too…sounds charming…sending you writing vibes Miriam ~ happy day Hedy ☺️☀️🌷

          • My two and a half year old granddaughter loves to read. She started reading by herself in her room when she was 15 months old. She memorized at least 12 books by now. It always warms my heart seeing photos of her reading which happens all day long and in everywhere of the house. 🙂 🙂

          • Oh yes our starseed as well…his parents are also avid reader…sending writing vibes ~ Hedy 🙋‍♀️☺️

          • Thanks to the positive influence of generations before us and hope to pass it on. Have a wonderful week, Hedy! 🙂

          • Yes many teachings from before us…I’m trying my best…sending you hope and joy and all good things Miriam ~ smiles Hedy ☺️🌷☀️

  6. Love the photos!!!

  7. Words for right-now… I’ve been participating in many of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s daily (free) mindfulness sessions on Zoom, also something good for right-now

    • I felt that for me they worked so that’s lovely to read Penny and I’ve not done a class with Jon Kabat-Zinn…will check it out thanks for saying…I’m trying my best to do my daily pranayama class each morning…which certainly works for me…and I’m grateful to be able to be outside…it’s an amazing time to be alive actually…stay in the now…sending you smiles and all good things ~ Hedy ☺️💫

      • yes, it is an amazing time to be alive, an opportunity to learn so much we might not otherwise take time to notice … a chance to be more fully alive, less sleep-walking…

  8. What Brett said. Every word of it. Sometimes it’s easier to steal words than come up with my own 🙂
