According to Buddha

“Namaste,” which means: I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides; I honor the place in you of love, of light, of truth, of peace. I honor the place within you where if you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us. “Namaste.”

  2. “…if you are in that place”…the practice💛💛💛

  3. Cool pictures really, Hedy, a new lake waiting for me again on Saturday 🙂 Stay safe!

  4. Prachtig! beautiful!

  5. One of the things I miss about India is being able to namaste without being pretentious.

    • I’ve never been to India yet but I appreciate the meaning of the word…as I learned it in 1996 from my first yoga teacher but we know it has a religious and cultural meaning so I use it mindfully…rarely actually…thank you kindly Neurodrooling for this beautiful link ☺️❣️ smiles and joy your way hedy 🙋‍♀️

  6. I remember those lyrics from a song by The Incredible String Band. A beautiful song.

    • yes Snatam Kaur – Long Time Sun…so beautifully put together I agree Neil ~ good morning smiles hedy ☺️🙋‍♀️☀️

  7. Masterfully done, my dear Hedy! xoxo

  8. Namaste
    OM

    thank you Hedy

  9. Wonderful Hedy, Namaste!!!❤️️❤️️❤️️

  10. Namaste means I see you. Thank you for that. And for beautiful photography.

  11. It’s doesn’t just mean “hello?”

    • nope George and the more I read well you can imagine…cultural, religious and mis/use…🤔

Namaste is a Sanskrit phrase combining two phrases to mean “I bow to you” or “The divine in me bows to the divine in you.” It is a common Hindu/Indian greeting. Not only is it a salutation but it is used as a sign of reverence and respect. However, in some Hindu areas it simply means good morning as well…and there is probably more 🤓

      good morning ~ hedy 🙋‍♀️☀️

  12. Namaste has such a rich and deep meaning. I didn’t know what it meant even though I heard it from the yoga instructors all the time. Your poem is beautiful. I love both photo especially the one with the boats.

    • thank you kindly for your comments appreciated ☺️…and yes Miriam I hear namaste in fitness yoga classes…and we know it has a deeper religious meaning…so the definition that Ram Dass presented seemed fitting to me 🤓…I’ve never been to India and I’m a sloppy buddhist but I do try my best to be aware of the culture behind any practice…smiles and peace hedy

ps. I use the musical words of others, sigh so sloppy too 😉

  13. Beautiful 💕 I see you Hedy and beyond 🙏

    • Thank you kindly Val ☺️…I know you have a deep understanding of the meaning of namaste as a yoga teacher…and beyond 🙏have a joyful day smiles hedy ☺️

  14. What a lovely package – the Buddha quote, the photos, and the song (which I’ve sung many times over the years and was kind of an anthem for me back in my 20’s).
    Namaste.
    Alison

    • yes Alison I’ve no doubt you have a deep cultural appreciation and understanding of Nameste and yes the song Long Time Sun 🤓☺️ I’m sure your knowledge is grounded in your narratives of knowing…I’ve enjoyed Snatam Kaur over the past years…have a joyful day 💫 will be by to read your post with coffee tomorrow 🤓 hugs

  15. Namaste

    • “I bow to the divine in you”….”nuh-muh-steh”…I learned namaste from a yoga teacher in 1996 ☺️…but I like Ram Dass’s words in honouring the cultural meaning…hoping your life is treating you and your loved ones well 💫 hugs hedy

  16. Stunning!! Namaste…

  17. Beautiful Miss Hedy … a lovely way to start my day 🙂💫

  18. Beautiful work, Hedy. 🙂

  19. Namaste? Just one word to mean all that? Wy did I just think of Bill Murray in Lost in translation? 😉
    Love the reflections.
