According to Buddha

Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It’s not ‘I love you’ for this or that reason, not ‘I love you if you love me.’ It’s love for no reason, love without an object.

dead end signs ~ central Alberta ~ July 2020

  1. Love is all there is 💕

  2. I’ve never seen a checkered sign like that. It catches the eye. Have a great day, Hedy.

    • yup typical here in Alberta for dead ends…the endless land…great days albeit it strange times here…sending joy ☀️💫 hedy

  3. I don’t even know what that sign is supposed to be signaling. :-/

    • here in Alberta it’s a “dead end”…just endless land Gregory ☺️🤓 sending you joy ~ smile Hedy

      • None of that “endless land” here in Boston, except for run-down lots that no one looked at much; in the towns adjacent to Boston (and the ones adjacent to them), there is only one such stretch I know of here, and it is an abandoned mental facility, with the oldest buildings seemingly built during the Great War, that is genuinely the size of a city, tucked within Waltham, left there to rot somewhere about the 1980s, with minimal staff and only a very, very small handful of buildings with any occupancy. I took pictures of that about ten years ago. They’re surely not very good; you, however, would make that place sing.

I remember hearing that the State, who owns the land, is gonna sell it to a developer for reasons that sounded neither open nor transparent at the time (connections).

        • etown has what I see as 4 very different exits…some ‘prettier’…we also have refineries and run down spaces…and many issues for land with indigenous, ranchers, wild horses, deserted oil things…

now is searched “waltham massachusetts state hospital”…oof…that’s a place/space/a layer of stories…in my early work I was always curious about how humans were “locked” away…I still remember visits to Woodlands School it was a hospital in New Westminster, BC…Alberta Hospital…Michener Centre…prisons…I can still see faces and eyes of humans…I didn’t take photos at that time…those are far away memories but still clear…thanks Gregory for this comment…I have another project I’m working on and your comments made another connection for me appreciated 🤓💫 have a productive day ~ smiles hedy

  4. Dogs and cats can love unconditionally.

    • yup…unconditional love is a weighty…gets muddied…perhaps, George it’s 🤔 wholehearted love…I don’t know 🤓 maybe there will be a Buddhist in one of your scenes ☺️😳😉🤣 have a fun writing day ~ smiles hedy ps. I did a dog post for my Sunday post 🤓

  5. The views are much like the choices we make when falling in love. Is it ‘safe’ to proceed?
Love is much like that. Giving thought to our well being helps comfort the heart
in what may be a difficult time.
Have a most peaceful day dear friend

    • Thank you for your words Eddie…yes it’s choices…love wins…sending joy from my windy garden…some first time flowers 🌺 😳 not many…gardening is much work 🤓😎💪

  6. Love those contrasts Hedy. Thank you 💕

    • Thank you kindly for saying Val ☺️ I appreciate your comment…you’re welcome…sending you joy 💫 and ☮️ ❣️

  7. Oh that Buddha guy was so wise. And those wheat photos so beautiful.
Alison – hugs from cloudy Van.

    • yes Ram Dass I’ve been into his narrative and some of his words…actually it’s foxtail is a spikelet…not good for dogs…it was a dead end…and so 🌬 🌬 🌬 🌬 🌬 thunder and lightening from etown Alison ~ have a happy night ☺️🙃🙂❣️

  8. Excellent series. I like how you ordered the pictures.

  9. You could play chess and checkers on that sign 😀

  10. Love for no reason .. ❤️ wonderful images Miss Hedy

  11. Interesting, Hedy, interesting! Nicely juxtaposed. 🙂

  12. The colours of summer. I remember the fields of wheat and orge above our Normandy house… Dancing in the summer. Orge is barley, I think. Lemme check. Yep. Checked.
