According to Buddha

Just because you are seeing divine light, experiencing waves of bliss, or conversing with gods and goddesses is no reason to not know your zip code.

somewhere along the Kicking Horse Canyon, BC ~ October 2020

  1. Hedy, lovely captures and thoughts. 🥰🏅

  2. I didn’t know they had zip codes back in Buddha’s timeless time. 😉 The sentiment resonances though, and reminds me a bit of Frank Zappa’s, “It’s important to keep an open mind, though not so open your brain falls out.” My way of putting it is that I’m Woo rather than Woo Woo.

    • I love Zappa too Jordon🤓…and yes Ram Dass was ahead of his time I’d say…and yes ‘open mind, though not so open your brain falls out’…we don’t need any more humans having their brains fall out 🙃🙂…woo and smiles your way ~ hedy ☺️💫

      • 🙂 Hedy. Yes, no more humans having their brains fall out. WIth the stick shift in a car basically being an anti-theft device for many people, I wonder what physical transmission is learned for younger people these days that teaches people how to shift gears, shift focus and redirect scale to disengage anxieities and stay engaged, including the silence of motion in neutral, or turning off the car to walk instead? Three on the tree was a bear to learn. 4-speed, then 5-speed, then 6-speed turbo, and OH I blew the turbo bypass valve again driving the car like to was supposed to be driven, that valve basically being the pressure release valve to sidestep forces exceeding spec so I could sidestep the clutch at 4,500 rpm for vrooommm fun. Back to the dealer for a quick reset of the turbo bypass valve, and back to it.

Motion and driving and gardening are three great teachers, and I wonder how much is lost and what is gained by so many tip-tropic and automatic transmissions moving into the mainstream. I’m not against progress, though the clutch was a wonderful lesson all around. I wonder where it’s lesson was displaced to so that it’s lesson continues.

  3. A canyon! I initially thought of the beach. I hope you have a great week, Hedy. Enjoy.

    • right all the right beach colours…but it’s very cold…it’s a fascinating space…and yes at the left coast visiting family so so nice…feelings of gratitude and always an adventure to go by car…hoping you’re having a productive and joyful week Chris ~ smiles hedy ☺️💫

  8. Thanks for the Buddhist reminder 😊

  9. Oh wow, that was very unexpected food for thought.. loved the old teachings with a modern twist… did he really say that or did you interpret that! Either way, I loved it Hedy, along with the interesting shots. Have a great day dear one. ❤️ Cindy

    • ☺️🙃🙂 yes Ram Dass did apparently say these words….so cool I thought…and seems so appropriate to me especially these days Cindy…always appreciate your kindness ~ have a joyful day ~ hugs hedy 🤗❣️

  10. Wow, lovely, interesting images, Hedy. My fav is the second one. 🌞

    • Humble thank you Lisa…it was the light and colours…felt magic…and thank you for your kind words 🙏 appreciated hedy ☺️💫

  11. Cool pictures, especially number two. Nice acid music.

    • Humble thank you Ray…🙃🙂 well yes perhaps, and there’s an idea I do enjoy Four Tet’s 🎵🎶…hope you’re enjoying your sandwiches too ☺️

      • You’re welcome. If you noticed I stopped saying “enjoy anything, ” in deference to you.

        • 😳😂🤣well it’s not unwanted Ray…Perhaps we need to think about what we eat…food production…who knows…I do like coffee…going to enjoy one now ☺️

          • It’s just me. I don’t eat most of what I wrote, but I was honoring the late Warren Zevon. Too many people passing now, so I should have stopped awhile back. There is a lot of coffee drunk in this house. Mostly in espresso form.

          • I remember Werewolves of London 🎼🎶🎵I’m not sure I know eating connection 🤔 I’ll read up. I like cream in my coffee…happiness your way Ray! ☺️🤗💫

          • Go to YouTube and search Warren Zevon on Letterman. You might have add last live performance.

          • Once I’ve got good wifi I will I’ve got it book marked Ray 🤓👌 thanks

  12. Interesting images, Hedy! I’m curious about the second image also. 🙂

  13. I will hang on preciously to zip code. Which is actually… balanced. 14000. Lots of zeroes for peace and meditation.
Thank you for the desert shots. This must be a great place for silence…
    🙏🏻 Om mane…

  14. I suppose it’s important to know your zip. It makes it easier to receive the online purchases. 🙂

    • Here we have postal codes and yes another marker…I know I’ve done more online purchases than ever before….have a good day David ~ smiles hedy ☺️☀️🙏

  15. Hedy, you’ve managed to play with scale in the best way – these are at once tiny and huge. A great way to illustrate that “quote.” I hope you’re enjoying yourself this week!

    • Yes been away to the west cost and a trip over the mountains very beautiful much longer than flying but wanted one more squeeze from the little one before the snow flies ☺️☀️🙋‍♀️ sending joy hedy

      • Good, I’m glad. A long drive but in many places, a beautiful one, I would think. Good thing you got your squeezes in, but I know you won’t go too long before coming back for more. 😉
