According to Buddha

Usually when we hear or read something new, we just compare it to our own ideas. If it is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct. If it is not, we say it is incorrect. In either case, we learn nothing.

has our conscience shown?
has the sweet breeze blown?
has all the kindness gone?
hope still lingers on
are we listening
hymns of offering?
have we eyes to see
that love is gathering?

Juvenile Tundra Swan + Granville Island~ a day or so ago ~ October 2020

  1. Love this thought very much. It is an interesting and important idea to ponder.

    • thanks Sabiscuit…lots to ponder in my hedy head…and the song Collective Soul playing on the radio seems to fit my thoughts 🤓🙂🙃 have a wonderful day ~ sending joy hedy 💫

  2. The appeal of psychedelics was/is to open the mind and experience things in a new way. The same sometimes can be accomplished without “drugs”. Hi Hedy. Enjoy the day.

    • yes Neil…🤓maybe after Tuesday😉🤭…lots can be accomplished without drugs indeed…off to be in nature best drug 🙂🙃☀️❄️have a happy day too!

  3. Is that swan lost?
Maybe I’m the one who is lost.
    Something to ponder today.
    Mean while, let’s us both
have a big smile for the camera.

    • well Eddie I don’t know for sure I mixed this post with 2 different places…but I know it’s a Juvenile Tundra Swan and that many humans in our foto friday were “very excited” to see it…I don’t know much about birds but learn along the way 🤓…some did say “he was solo”…serious poser…I walked quite close…I think 🤔 the swan is wandering…I’ll go and check along the way…now I know more. big smiles off to walk the mutt 🐕 💫

  4. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice?

    • yes Mike…sometimes just niksen, a Dutch concept of “doing nothing”…but it’s still a choice 🤓 to me anyways. have a snappy day ~ smiles hedy 😄

  5. Yes, so true! Nice Hedy!! ❤️ Cindy

  6. Great photo sequence! Thanks for that.

  7. Interesting thoughts and photos to accompany, Hedy. 😌

  8. “If it is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct. If it is not, we say it is incorrect. In either case, we learn nothing.” Absolutely! Seriously, understanding this very simple tenet would open up minds and freedom everywhere. Beautiful with photos to match, Hedy. Wishing you health and happiness 🙂

    • open up minds and freedom everywhere….imagine Randall…itt is possible ~ hoping all things are well with you 🤓🙃🙂 apologies for my delayed response…🤪🙃🙃🤗 hugs hedy

  9. corrugated

  10. That’s an interesting juxtaposition of images, Hedy! I keep going back and trying to “get” the relationship between the swan and the corrugated metal wall, both of which are beautiful, and gray, and somehow soothing….so you have me looking, my friend. 😉

  11. Which is why most people never learn anything? 😉
