According to Buddha

The work of quieting our minds and opening our hearts prepares us to be able to act in the world in a way that doesn’t create more suffering. When we develop that stance, a perspective arises towards life that allows us to be effective actors on the stage of life. So that you and I become instruments of healing, instruments of peace, of love and wisdom.

  1. Blessed. Have a great Sunday. ❤🙏

  2. What is it that we really want?
    Sorrow, problems, troubles, petty
    or is it?
    Love, Growth, Healing, Joy
The choice is ours’ to make.

    • Yes evolve or well yes just evolve is my hope Eddie…and it’s a choice for sure…hoping your well…I’m happy we have forced heat 🙏🔥☺️

  3. Wonderful crisp and colorful images, Hedy. I hope you are well and taking care.

    • Hey thanks kindly Chris played with some of Eric Kim’s street presets…I felt they needed the colour…b/w seemed dismal ☺️🤓💫 take care too yup I’m doing! 💫

  4. My kinda subjects. Very 😎

    • It was a sunny afternoon…sad times on the street here…I will go out more…I do enjoy the street even on sad times Ray ~ sending joy ☺️💫🤗

      • When you do documentary work the subjects aren’t always nor are the scenes bright. It’s different from your later work. I’ve stopped photographing that because I see as being a voyeur unless I can really help.

        • it’s true Ray…I’m trying to imagine another more meaningful way for street in etown…when I do it becomes a longitudinal project more research and relational…this walk did gut me…never seen or felt this sadness on this street…of course it may be my mood…and it also existed before covid but it feels very different…I’m going out again today…with some food I think and my mutt🤔sending peace…and joy!

          • It’s probably your mood as much as anything. Simple transference. It happens to me a lot. You could turn your work into art and look for a gallery. What I did it a little it was a long form newspaper project. Started on P 1 and jumped to two pages on the gutter. We were all excited. It just about won every pj and journalism contest we entered it in. But, it changed nothing, not even in the short term. Stay mighty.

          • Yes I’ve got some ideas…and I’ll go back to check that Ray… stay mighty here I’m just witnessing weird and wild times…grateful it’s not -30 yet 😜👌

  5. Beautiful expressions. Thank you Hedy 💕

  6. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing Hedy. 🙂

  7. And together we walk in the land of beauty with your wonderful words and pictures.
    Thank you Hedy! ❤️ Cindy

  8. Love the Isbells song! Glad I followed the link and checked it out. And here in your images I love the merging… the opposites… the bars over spaciousness… the shadows behind the light… We have all of this right now I think. Such powerful intersections right now…

    Peace
    Michael

    • yes Michael indeed…powerful intersections…and the music of Isbells has that Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes feeling I like them very much ~ sending you joy and a hug hedy 😀

  9. Beautiful images and poem, Hedy!

    • 🙏thank you kindly Miriam appreciated sending you all good things and writing vibes ~ smiles hedy ☺️🙃🙂

      • Happy holidays to you, Hedy ☺️🤗

        • you too Miriam…it will be a joyful sort of melancholy I guess…we’re one lockdown…no one allowed in our home…and I zoomed out…so of course make beauty out of this experience as well. hugs hedy ☺️🤗

          • We’re not going anywhere except shopping for essential items. Our County just received the first shipment of Pfizer vaccine and we’ll get 32,000 by next week. Help is on the way. 🙂

          • Yes things will shift…we will thrive 🤓💛sending Sunday vibes Miriam have a relaxing day 💫

          • Things are getting worse before they get better here. The next few weeks and months are crucial to stay home until the storm passes.

Thank you, Hedy. I’ll have a relaxing day today. <3 🙂

  10. Hi, hoping you are well. I wanted to let you know that WordPress has blocked my liking function and I am forever blocked from liking any posts. It is very sad and they give me no reason except that I am a spam bot and not a human being. I will appreciate your work by commenting from time to time. Much love and best wishes. ❤🙏

  11. Looks like a lot of empty spaces. We have plenty of those locally too.

    • I walked this street many years never seen it looking so sad and empty…humans homeless and no one making eye contact…my heart felt very heavy taking these images…and yes many cities I’m sure look similar David 😔💫 but humans thrive new things/ideas will emerge…but it’s sad in this moment here in Alberta. Sending you all good things ~ smiles hedy ☺️💫🙏

  12. Yes, we can use some peace… Inside. Hard to achieve sometime… But thank you for the reminder.
Now the battle of Bach dang? Sounded Vietnamese. But I “remember” Da Nang not Bach Dang… 😉 So which would it be? 938? 939? 1288?
    🙏🏻

  13. One more thing. How do you find your titles? Do you just Google “938”? Or is there another hidden pattern? You could write a poem with your titles. Another story.

  14. yesterday? (Last week). Nice light. Not sure I would walk barefoot though…

  15. Nice colors and point of view.

  16. These are hard times, but you found the beauty.

    • So isolating here…and yes beauty exists everywhere and I look for it with intention Lynn…hoping you’re hanging in/on…weird days here too 😜

      • Soon the light will start to increase…we need that…and maybe it’ll be clear tomorrow evening and you can see the conjunction. It looks like we’ll have clouds but that’s no surprise at this time of year. We’ll get through it!
