In our culture we’ve been trained to make individual differences to stand out. You look at each person and think, ‘Brighter, dumber, older, younger, richer, poorer’ and we make all these dimensional distinctions, put them in categories and treat people that way. And we only see others as separate from ourselves. One of the dramatic characteristics of the psychedelic experience is being with another person and suddenly seeing the ways in which they are like you – not different from you.

Some of us also use those differences in a quest to feel superior. Psychedelics may help us overcome that but basic honesty about ourselves can do that too.
Whatever these are they are beautiful and you made some wonderful images of curiosity. They also remind me of some candies I recall from younger days.

Excellent work again. The differences and similarities reminded me when I starterd qualtiative research and I asked: why is a sample of 12 in-depth interviews enough? I was more a numbers man. The answer: there are not many more than 5 or 6 psychological “types” on a a given issue. 10-12 at the most. Within a reasonably homogeneous group of course.
So, with 6, 10 or 12 people we get an array of attitudes on an issue. Attitudes that are shared by the entire population. What makes us different is our own personal mix of attitudes. I may share one with you. Another with someone else. Und so weiter. It is the combination that makes us unique.
