According to Buddha

Letting there be room for not knowing is the most important thing of all. When there’s a big disappointment, we don’t know if that’s the end of the story. It may just be the beginning of a great adventure. Life is like that. We don’t know anything. We call something bad; we call it good. But really we just don’t know.

  1. Hard to argue with Pema Chödrön. When Things Fall Apart is a very good book. 🙏 Have a great day Hedy!

    • I’m not fond of arguing anyways 🤓🙂🙃😂 I’ve just started to read some of her works…it was a great day 🚶‍♂️ 🐕 🌲 🌞…I’m tired which is good…sleep is the best meditation for me ☺️ sending you joy Mike

  2. Many things are beyond our comprehension.. 🙏🌹

  3. A good photo gallery, with a sound approach to not knowing. We don’t have to explain everything and leave no room for wonder

  4. Fun shots, Hedy. There is a place for skating on our street. I love going by and seeing the kids out there. We’ve been lucky that the weather has been cold enough for almost daily use since Christmas. With many children home schooled during these times, it is getting a lot of use.

    • great fun…this is a pond…and after the brutal weather it finally froze up enough and then it warmed for a fun skating time…so many humans out…it was joyous Chris ~ have a productive and joyful week ~ smiles hedy ☺️🙂🙃🙏

  5. Nice and fun. The end is a new beginning.

  6. ‘We don’t know anything’
If I did, I would say something like,
your delightful photos are a great representation
of being free of knowing anything!
    Hugs dear heart, Eddie

    • …of being free of knowing anything! that would be indeed 🤓…I have moments like that ☺️you’re so kind makes me smile to re-read your words and comment back 🙏dear Eddie ~ hugs and sunshine back hedy

  7. Love the Buddha quote – living in the not-knowing is so much more peaceful.
Wonderful photos – so very Canada!
    Stay warm Hedy.
    Alison

    • it’s so good when I fall into that mode…gotta work at it 🤓🙄it makes everything just being here now…even if its just a moment 🤓🙏 …it was a true Canadian moment…flushed cheeks, laughter and lots of humans practicing and learning how to skate…so fun and funny too💫

  8. fun pictures Hedy and you’re right “what do we know always a surprise this life! 💖

    • it was fun…just what I needed a moment of joy and sunlight and the sounds of happy humans ☺️🙂🙃 you know Cindy 🤓🙂🙃 have a fun day ~ hugs hedy 🤗

      • Oh that’s awesome Hedy!!! So glad you had some human contact and fun!!! 👏👏👏👏👏🌷
Will do: you too, thanks 🙏🙏🙏🌷

  9. The ice must be thick enough for skating. For all the brutal cold temps we had a week ago, it’ll be in the 50s tomorrow and Tuesday. The ice is only thick enough for duck and geese walking. Most likely, they’ll be floating along in the ice-free areas. 🙂

    • Forgot to add, the woman in #3 shouldn’t be on the phone. She’s there to enjoy herself.

      • I capture so many humans and hanging their phones📱…who knows maybe its fun for her🤷‍♀️she was zipping around…thanks David 🙃🙂

    • yup it was brutal…yesterday I could see it warming and slushing up already…but I’m sure we have winter for a while yet ❄️ you know this place then too ☺️🤓 smiles hedy 🙂

  10. “…we call something bad, we call something good, but we just don’t know.” 🙂 That’s good! (Oops, maybe I don’t know).
I love the first photo – great angle, great moment, perfect processing as always. Have a great week, Hedy. 🙂

  11. Thanks for the smile Hedy. ⛄️

  12. Very true. We just don’t know. Your photos reminded me of ice-skating on a frozen canal in a little village near Hilversum. We had some friends there. Most of the locals skated with wooden skates…

  13. very cool photos from the skate park

  14. Beautiful wisdom. This is the great question of life that I wish we’d pay more attention to.

  15. Another wise quote …super icy photos Miss Hedy. Do you skate too? 🌼💫

    • Pema Chödrön…just started looking at some of her work 🤓 and no I haven’t skated in years … I did figure skate long ago 💫 sending you joy Julie ❄️☀️❄️

  16. I love the quote and your beautiful ice skating images Hedy, which took me back to my ice-skating days as a child on the Dutch canals. It’s great to not know anything 💜

    • oh how lovely to remember that Xenia…I’ve not skated one the dutch canals yet…watching the skaters on this wonderful Saturday afternoon was so fun for me…tot ziens smiles over the pond hedy ☺️💫
