According to Buddha

So resolve yourselves. It’s not just by sitting with your eyes closed that you develop wisdom. Eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind are constantly with us, so be constantly alert. Study constantly. Seeing trees or animals can all be occasions for study. Bring it all inwards. See clearly within your own heart. If some sensation makes impact on the heart, witness it clearly for yourself, don’t simply disregard it.

i know somewhere
there is a party going down
interesting people
conversation to be found
i’ve lived in cities
where there is no solitude
i’ve made some friends here
that i hope i never lose
but, for now
i want to stay in this quiet town

a week ago ~ the Lund farm house ~ Dowling Lake ~ acknowledging Treaty 7 territory land ~ October 2021

  1. There is something truly wonderful about the photo of the window with what looks like the old stove pipe vent off to the upper right. Love it!

    • thank you kindly Mark appreciated ☺️🙏 always enjoy these spaces…mini adventure along the way🤓 happy weekending hedy ☺️💫

  2. Me too, I want to stay in this quite town.

  3. That’s a beautiful derelict old house.

  4. Every sensation leaves something within me (us). It’s relevance and significance is determined by my ‘present’ thinking. The current post is especially important to me
because of current events in my life. ‘Being constantly alert’ is a tremendous aid
all the time but it especially helps now!
a great post Hedy! have a marvelous day, Eddie

    • hoping you can also have a rest from the constant alert Eddie…I know my senses seem even more heightened these days…it’s like a rocking ship…sliding from side to side…not knowing where to be…of course some days are much better thank goodness…sending you all good things dear Eddie 🕉💟☮️love hedy

  5. Wonderful photos! What stories the old house might tell and what stories we might write from just looking at your photos! 💖💐🙋‍♂️

  6. Why don’t you have a sleep over this Sunday Hedy?I bet you’d kill to do that!

    • 😅😳well maybe not kill but yes I’m looking forward to being at the sea soon, I hope ☺️🤓have a good and creative weekend Wayne 💫

  7. Very nice. Looks, and must sound, peaceful.

    • it’s truly in the middle of no where…very isolated…it would be tricky to live here in our harsh winters…so barren and it will be cold 🥶🥶 thanks for your comment Michele ~ sending you joy 💫hedy

  8. Certainly quiet. Love the birds in the first shot. 2nd shot is a mystery to me.. 3rd also amazing. I once saw Josh Rouse in Groningen. Sitting on a barstool with only his acoustic guitar. After a while he looked a little bored and said: “Well guys, you tell me what to play’.. Then he had to pee and left the room. We were waiting for his return; but it lasted quite a while. Then someone who was sitting close to the door asked for some quietness. Then we heard a soft knocking on the door. Josh had locked himself out.. It was a fun evening! 🙂 Enjoy the birds!

    • I enjoyed reading this comment Harrie🤓☺️🙂🤭and yes always a good story…I also enjoy live music…the birds at this house did as always give me a good little scare 😳😉 happy weekending ~ hugs hedy

  9. what great pictures and love the message always Hedy! Thanks my friend💖

  10. Love that abandoned prairie home– this, an especially cinematic group of image. Could be stills from a Malick film.

  11. Those are some seriously clear blue skies. Very nice, Hedy! Enjoy your weekend. 🙂

    • It was stellar and yes that alberta blue sky…really hard actually I went with it pretty true to the scene…it was a cool place for sure Lynn ☺️😎💙hugs hedy 🤗

      • It’s dry there, isn’t it? BTW, the birds (pigeons I think) flying away – what a great catch that is!

        • It was/is so dry…I’ve never seen it like this…I thought it was snow at first 😳but no…and yes the white snow geese was a gift 🤍🕊🙏happiness your way Lynn hugs hedy 🤗

  12. Beautiful words in the song and am in my quiet place at the moment so able to let your Buddha wisdom surround me. Fantastic photos.

  13. Very special photos Miss Hedy … how I would love to see that dilapidated house. Many a story to tell! Love your work 🤩🙂💫

    • Oh me too Julie apparently the owners of the land do know about the history also I have a foto friend who knows more about it he photographed it at night which is very cool😎it was an alberta blue day…and thanks kindly for your comments 🙏☺️🤍🕊hugs hedy
