According to Buddha

Remind yourself that all sentient beings have at one time been your mother—birthing you, nursing you, caring for you through a helpless stage of life. Imagine this and generate appreciation and goodwill for all sentient beings, whether they cut you off in traffic, compliment your smile, or walk past you without a glance.

a day ago ~ “say their names” at the National Red Dress Day which honours missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, but men and boys are not left out. ~ Etown – Amiskwaciwâskahikan ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ ~ May 2022

  1. Excellent photos.

  2. Excellent series, Hedy.

  3. Hello Hedy. How are you? You have some powerful images here. It’s sad that we need such a day.

    • I’m doing fine busy somehow all in a good way now out caring for my daughters dogs so it’s green and mild 🐾💃💚🐶🐶🐶yes this is a long standing story here in Canada and we try our best to educate humans and care for the children and teach new ways…the hanging red dress are powerful indeed…Jamie Black startled this about 10 years ago already … hope you’re well Chris many smiles hugs hedy 🤗☀️💫

  4. Totally beautiful, like you! Happy day! hugs, Eddie

  5. When will ALL abuse end? Heartbreaking, as it is still so rife! The more people speak up, perhaps more will be done! We don’t have a National Red Dress Day here but we should have! 🙏🙋‍♂️

    • I don’t know Ashley but I know there is a lot of education happening with young girls and boys…and yes say their names and political will can make changes…I believe…sending joy and all good things for a brighter future…I imagine a different world too ~ hugs hedy 🤗💃

      • Certainly, I pray that you are right about political will making changes! I try to be more optimistic but then there’s so much wrong in the world including now, a war in Europe (Ukraine) and that will not end happily! I wish I could find the words to express the heartache, the trauma and the tragedy that we humans increasingly find ourselves in. 🙏🙋‍♂️

        • I understand even at this event my heart ached…it’s hard for me to grasp the level of cruelty…so many things do not make sense to me…humans can be very disappointing…there are no words…I do imagine a different world Ashley. Sending a smile and hug…🕊🤍🤗

          • You are right! There are no words…only actions will do…even if those actions, on my part, are far from the abuse or the conflict..! “SAY THEIR NAMES” They are not forgotten! 🤍🌹🙋‍♂️

  6. Happy Mothers Day Hedy!

    • Thank you Wayne it’s been a good day I’m in white rock caring for my daughters mutts…it’s so green and flowers, sigh…you know I love it here…happy week to you ~ hugs hedy☺️💃🤗

      • you are feeling that “pull” that everyone feels. Once you move here, that pull becomes part of you. It changes you, you become ……..more.

  7. Great photos.

  8. the message and photos are palpable dear Hedy.. love them! 💖

  9. An important day – glad you were there – wonderful photos.

    • Thank you Lynn and yes an important piece of history…lots of education for the public and missing silenced voice 🤓🙏🌹hugs hedy

      • There’s the same issue here of course but I think it’s even less recognized than in Canada. Such a long way to go but more is being done and that’s great.

  10. These are fantastic! Thank you for sharing your art. 🙏🏻

  11. Missing and murdered? And here I was thinking that Canada was a safe place… Darn.
“According to Buddha”: “those who cut you in traffic”? Did that happen to him too… 😉
Great pictures, and a great cause, Hedy.
