According to Buddha

Above all, be at ease, be as natural and spacious as possible. Slip quietly out of the noose of your habitual anxious self, release all grasping, and relax into your true nature. Think of your ordinary emotional, thought-ridden self as a block of ice or a slab of butter left out in the sun. If you are feeling hard and cold, let this aggression melt away in the sunlight of your meditation. Let peace work on you and enable you to gather your scattered mind into the mindfulness of calm abiding, and awaken in you the awareness and insight of clear seeing. And you will find all your negativity disarmed, your aggression dissolved, and your confusion evaporating slowly like mist into the vast and stainless sky of your absolute nature.

dear readers,

according to WP my sloppy buddhist theme has retired
unbeknownst to me
so I need to change themes
however,
as a creative white space matters
and after 11 years
1096 posts
I did have white space, just saying.

slowly I’m checking my theme options
curious what i will find to reclaim
my sloppy buddhist aesthetic…

sending you all joy, smiles and open-hearted love ~ hedy

According to Buddha

Real devotion is an unbroken receptivity to the truth. Real devotion is rooted in an awed and reverent gratitude, but one that is lucid, grounded, and intelligent.

if you need happiness
we can let it come around sometimes
happier than i think i am

According to Buddha

Profound and tranquil, free from complexity,
Uncompounded luminous clarity,
Beyond the mind of conceptual ideas;
This is the depth of the mind of the Victorious Ones.
In this there is not a thing to be removed,
Nor anything that needs to be added.
It is merely the immaculate
Looking naturally at itself.

According to Buddha

When was the last time you looked up and marvelled at a starry night? Do you see the myriad colours and shapes in all you see? Do you stop and smell the scent of the roses? Do you taste the rich flavours of every meal? Do you feel and enjoy the hot shower at the end of a hard day’s work? And perhaps more importantly, are you mindful of your mind, of your thoughts and feelings? Without mental mindfulness, there is no mindfulness of the senses.

there’s a mad dog pulling at his chain
a hint of danger in his eye
alarm bells raging round his brain
and the chimney’s broken in the sky

wake up
wake up and smell the roses

According to Buddha

Know all things to be like this:
A mirage, a cloud castle,
A dream, an apparition,
Without essence, but with qualities that can be seen.

on a clear day,
rise and look around you,
and you’ll see who you are.

you can hear from far and near
a world you’ve never heard before.

According to Buddha.

It is almost impossible to practice loving-kindness towards all living beings without addressing, in a meaningful way, the innumerable problems arising in our own lives. It is a contradiction, you see. It does not work. If our heart is tormented because we are not able to accept things the way they are, then it is impossible to open our heart. It is impossible to let go of all of our defenses and embrace others. Therefore we have to constantly practice and deepen our awareness. We have to remind ourselves to accept things as they are…even reciting slogans, phrases like “I shall accept the way things are.”

when i was a little girl
and the devil would call my name
and i’d say, “who do, who

oh, my mama loves me, she loves me
she gets down on her knees and hugs me
yeah, she loves me like a rock
she rocks me like the rock of ages
she loves me

According to Buddha

The light of the sun is the manifestation of the clarity of the sky; and the sky is the basic condition necessary for the manifestation of the sun’s light. So, too, in the sky two, three, four, or any number of suns could arise; but the sky always remains indivisibly one sky. Similarly, every individual’s state of presence is unique and distinct, but the void nature of the individual is universal, and common to all beings.

just take it slow
the sun will show you where to go
trust your heart can help you see
i have seen the light, it settled me
just take it slow

In Art, Black and White Photography, Buddhist philosophical concepts, close up, Flora, Fotografia, iPhoneography, Macro, Minimal photography, minimalism, Photography, Reflection, still life, water, Words of music on 2022/03/30 at 04:00

According to Buddha

The very entity of the mind, its nature of mere luminosity and knowing, is not polluted by defilements; they do not abide in the entity of the mind. Even when we generate afflictive emotions, the very entity or nature of the mind is still mere luminosity and knowing, and because of this we are able to remove the afflictive emotions. If you agitate the water in a pond, it becomes cloudy with mud; yet the very nature of the water itself is not dirty. When you allow it to become still again, the mud will settle leaving the water pure.

you, soft and only
you, lost and lonely
you, strange as angels
dancing in the deepest oceans
twisting in the water
you’re just like a dream
you’re just like a dream

According to Buddha

Ego is the problem. Sometimes ego is very spoiled, like a child who is constantly throwing tantrums. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept where we are. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept who we are. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept the way things are without any real complaint. So what do we do? There is nothing that we can do. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept the fact that the sky is blue but there is nothing that we can do. You see. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept that we are living on a planet that is permeated with natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, and other catastrophes. All we can do is accept that and learn how to surrender to the flow of all events.
