According to Buddha

Interdependence is a fundamental law of nature. Even tiny insects survive by mutual cooperation based on innate recognition of their interconnectedness. It is because our own human existence is so dependent on the help of others that our need for love lies at the very foundation of our existence. Therefore we need a genuine sense of responsibility and a sincere concern for the welfare of others.

is anyone out there?
does anybody listen or care anymore?
we are living on a dying planet,
we’re killing everything that’s alive,
and anyone who tries to deny it
wears a tie

According to Buddha

Introspection, or ‘sitting in the silence,’ is an unscientific way of trying to force apart the mind and senses, tied together by the life force. The contemplative mind, attempting its return to divinity, is constantly dragged back toward the senses by the life currents.

i’m just the man in the middle
of a complicated plan.
no one to show me the signs.
i’m just a creature of habit
in a complicated world.
nowhere to run to.
nowhere to hide, to hide, to hide, to hide….

According to Buddha

Modern life is becoming very unsatisfactory. It does not give you happiness. There are too many things, too many desires. More nice cars and dresses and entertainments—and more worries. Free yourself from these so-called “necessities”…

leading me down the road
driving me on
driving me down the road
my love is exceeding the limit
red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
distance and longing, my thoughts do provide
should i rest for a while at the side?

According to Buddha

Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress.

i’m down at the laundromat

According to Buddha

The New Year has come to greet you with new hopes, new determination, new will-to-achieve, new activities.

infocus-photo-2017-invitation

MISSION: To promote and exhibit innovative, thoughtful, and provocative photography created by CANADIAN contemporary image makers.

INFOCUS PHOTO is an annual exhibition curated by Alexis Marie Chute. In it’s first year, 2015, the show took place at Harcourt House Artist Run Centre and featured Edmonton and area photographers. In the second year, InFocus expanded to celebrate the best photography from across Alberta, showcased at dc3 Art Projects. Now, in its third installment, InFocus has fulfilled its mission of welcoming submissions from ALL Canadian photographers. This year, 2017, the curated show will be mounted in The Front Gallery. InFocus takes place every February during Exposure Photography Festival. http://www.infocusphoto.ca/

I am thrilled to be included as an emerging photographer.

Modern science has discovered that the various material elements are nothing more than differently vibrating atoms. The universe is a cosmic motion picture of dancing atoms, which in turn are energy-sparks—not matter at all but vibratory waves.

we both hate the holidays
our parents act crazy
and the mall is insane
let’s skip it all this year
and have a non-traditional, non-denominational celebration
Christmas with you is the best
we’ll have no turkey or guests
sleeping late but before we get dressed
i want to give you a present
i want to give you a present

According to Buddha

We need to change our way of thinking and seeing things. We need to realize that the Earth is not just our environment. The Earth is not something outside of us. Breathing with mindfulness and contemplating your body, you realize that you are the Earth. You realize that your consciousness is also the consciousness of the Earth. Look around you–what you see is not your environment, it is you.
