According to Buddha

Don’t feel badly if you find yourself too restless to meditate deeply. Calmness will come in time, if you practice regularly. Just never accept the thought that meditation is not for you. Remember, calmness is your eternal, true nature.

and i’m happy and i’m settled in the person i’ve become
but that doesn’t mean i’m settled up and sitting out the game
time may change a lot but some things may stay the same

and i won’t sit down
and i won’t shut up
and most of all i will not grow up
and i won’t sit down
and i won’t shut up
and most of all i yeah i won’t grow up

i was dreaming in my dreaming
of an aspect bright and fair
and my sleeping it was broken
but my dream it lingered near
in the form of shining valleys
where the pure air recognized
and my senses newly opened
i awakened to the cry
that the people have the power
to redeem the work of fools
upon the meek the graces shower
it’ s decreed the people rule

don’t try to tell me to wait till i belong
you can’t convince me that what i dream is wrong
no matter what you say, you can’t cloud my head
i push the fear away…you remember what i said
you can’t stop the tide rising high, no
you can’t stop the light in my eyes, oh no
you can’t keep me down, i’ll tell you why

head out on the highway

yeah Darlin’ go make it happen
take the world in a love embrace

shall i say it again,

there are no impossible dreams…

The world, indeed, is like a dream and the treasures of the world are an alluring mirage.

Like the apparent distances in a picture, things have no reality in themselves, but they are like heat haze.

looking for something…

 …those little things

that sweet dreams are made of…

It is not as a means of procuring my own happiness that I give in charity, but I love charity that I may do good to the world.

i met Frankie, a San Diego busker…“Busker” (British slang for street performer).

i know not all people asking for money on the street are musicians

but on this street corner i photographed Frankie

who asked “You want to hear some Johnny Cash?”

i love Johnny Cash!

Love is a burning thing
and it makes a firery ring
bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire…

Ring of Firewww.youtube.com/watch?v=0lhf9U5Wf3Q.

after giving Frankie a couple of bucks he strummed straight into a rendition of

Light my Fire” www.youtube.com/watch?v=flOvM4Z355A by The Doors.

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn’t get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

both songs sung out of key added to his awe-inspiring antics…

his hyper manic performance

was truly beautiful…

and for me there is a joy in the act of giving www.buddhanet.net/budsas/ebud/whatbudbeliev/168.htm

i think about what i give…

i think about what i take…

what does a “charitable nature” look and feel like?

what are my intentions between what i have and what i give?

what is the motivation behind acts of charity?

what is charity in 2011?

i wondered if Frankie had a safe home to return to when he was done performing…
