The mind: A beautiful servant, a dangerous master.
the dangerous kitchen
if it ain’t one thing it’s another
in the middle of the night when you get home
the bread things are all dry ‘n’ scratchy
the meat things
where the cats ate through the paper
the can things with the sharp little edges
that can cut your fingers when you’re not looking
the soft little things on the floor that you step on they can all be dangerous
If you eat your dinner and then run, you won’t be able to enjoy what you’ve eaten; you may only get indigestion. But if you rest afterwards, you will find that this is the best time to enjoy the effects of your meal.
long time
i’ve been waiting a long time
long enough
you got the song
you got the dance
you got the inspiration
you got it all palm of your hand
i got the rolling wheel
the sun is gonna shine again the sun is gonna shine again
It is for the betterment of both man and woman that the woman should be given every freedom and equal opportunity for her individuality. Then there will be a sense of humour. And the woman can laugh more gracefully than man, she has every potential for it – but it is repressed, condemned, criticized. She has lived a life of such misery that you cannot hope that she will show some sense of humour.
But this is like some sort of sweet fruit: even though the fruit is sweet we must rely on contact with and experience of that fruit before we will know what the taste is like. Now that fruit, even though no-one tastes it, is sweet all the same. But nobody knows of it. The Dhamma of the Buddha is like this. Even though it’s the truth it isn’t true for those who don’t really know it. No matter how excellent or fine it may be it is worthless to them.
