According to Buddha

In all truly sacred traditions there is an essential resolve to cherish life and treat others ethically and kindly. All these traditions encourage us to be open to divine presence, both within and without, and tell us ‘to practice what we preach’ without hypocrisy or sleight of hand. For many, this message is of essential importance no matter who is carrying it.

if you want to meet me come on down
if you want to see me on the town
i will bring some of my mistakes
and you will bring a smile right to my face

According to Buddha

Truths are not truths to you unless you realize them within yourself. Without realization, they are just ideas. For perception, consciousness, lies not in vague ideas, but in the acquisition of Self-realization.

It is not as a means of procuring my own happiness that I give in charity, but I love charity that I may do good to the world.

i met Frankie, a San Diego busker…“Busker” (British slang for street performer).

i know not all people asking for money on the street are musicians

but on this street corner i photographed Frankie

who asked “You want to hear some Johnny Cash?”

i love Johnny Cash!

Love is a burning thing
and it makes a firery ring
bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire…

Ring of Firewww.youtube.com/watch?v=0lhf9U5Wf3Q.

after giving Frankie a couple of bucks he strummed straight into a rendition of

Light my Fire” www.youtube.com/watch?v=flOvM4Z355A by The Doors.

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn’t get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

both songs sung out of key added to his awe-inspiring antics…

his hyper manic performance

was truly beautiful…

and for me there is a joy in the act of giving www.buddhanet.net/budsas/ebud/whatbudbeliev/168.htm

i think about what i give…

i think about what i take…

what does a “charitable nature” look and feel like?

what are my intentions between what i have and what i give?

what is the motivation behind acts of charity?

what is charity in 2011?

i wondered if Frankie had a safe home to return to when he was done performing…

Simplicity of life may impel us to want or possess fewer things, appreciating what we have and use what we possess in the service of others. When we have fewer distractions in our lives we may concentrate in our inner realm.  At its core, simplicity is the living practice of reality as it is.

practicing living reality

living a practice of reality

reality really takes practice
