I, the snow lioness who stays in snowy solitudes, Have milk which is like the essential nectar. In the absence of golden cups, I would not pour it in an ordinary vessel.

then without a warning
another winter storm comes raging through
and the mercury’s fallin’
i’m left all alone
just like spring time in alberta
chills me to the bone

According to Buddha

Ego is the problem. Sometimes ego is very spoiled, like a child who is constantly throwing tantrums. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept where we are. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept who we are. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept the way things are without any real complaint. So what do we do? There is nothing that we can do. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept the fact that the sky is blue but there is nothing that we can do. You see. Sometimes ego doesn’t accept that we are living on a planet that is permeated with natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, and other catastrophes. All we can do is accept that and learn how to surrender to the flow of all events.

love is but a song to sing
fear’s the way we die
you can make the mountains ring
or make the angels cry
though the bird is on the wing
and you may not know why
come on people now
smile on your brother
everybody get together
try to love one another
right now

According to Buddha

The pain of the world will sear and break our hearts because we can no longer keep them closed. We’ve seen too much now. To some degree or other, we have surrendered into service and are willing to pay the price of compassion. But with it comes the joy of a single, caring act. With it comes the honor of participating in a generous process in which one rises each day and does what one can. With it comes the simple, singular grace of being an instrument of love, in whatever form, to whatever end.

i looked a coyote right in the face
on the road to baljennie, near my old home town
he went running thru the whisker wheat
chasing some prize down
and a hawk was playing with him
coyote was jumping straight up and making passes
he had those same eyes just like yours

images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
they call me on and on across the universe.
thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box,
they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe.

According to Buddha

Practically speaking, if all of your enemies were well, happy, and peaceful, they would not be your enemies. If they were free from problems, pain, suffering, affliction, neurosis, psychosis, paranoia, fear, tension, anxiety, etc., they would not be your enemies. The practical approach toward your enemies is to help them overcome their problems, so you can live in peace and happiness.

but we don’t know where we’ve been

give us time to work it out
