sun’s up, uuh huh, looks okay
the world survives into another day
and i’m thinking about eternity
some kind of ecstasy got a hold on me
i had another dream about lions at the door
they weren’t half as frightening as they were before

According to Buddha

Dualism is the real root of our suffering and of all our conflicts. All our concepts and beliefs, no matter how profound they may seem, are like nets which trap us in dualism. When we discover our limits we have to try to overcome them, untying ourselves from whatever type of religious, political or social conviction may condition us. We have to abandon such concepts as ‘enlightenment’, ‘the nature of the mind’, and so on, until we are no longer satisfied by a merely intellectual knowledge, and until we no longer neglect to integrate our knowledge with our actual existence.

we will come and go, in the forest
in the summer rain, we will meet again
we will learn the code of the ancient ones

Your body is like a dew-drop on the morning grass, your life is as brief as a flash of lightning. Momentary and vain, it is lost in a moment.

According to Buddha

Gratitude is a way of returning energy for energy received. One who accepts a kindness without returning gratitude, as though the kindness were her by right, demeans both the giver and herself.

According to Buddha

The consciousness flowing with the life force through the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch makes human conscious of matter.  But by meditation when consciousness and life force are withdrawn from the five senses, the astral nature of the life force, along with the consciousness and other aroused divine forces in the spinal centers, look like rivers of light flowing upward toward the ocean of light of spirit in the brain.

there is no reason for you to hide

According to Buddha

Love is born in the garden of soul progress, and it sleeps behind the darkness of outer attachments. Love is the oldest and the sweetest nectar, preserved in the bottle of hearts. It is the elixir flowing from the bosom of friendship, reviving bruised and broken spirits.

Modern science has discovered that the various material elements are nothing more than differently vibrating atoms. The universe is a cosmic motion picture of dancing atoms, which in turn are energy-sparks—not matter at all but vibratory waves.

According to Buddha

To try to practice and to try not to practice are both practice. I would rather say listen, be attentive, and see that you really are not attentive. When you see in certain moments in daily life that you are not attentive, in those moments you are attentive. Then see how you function. That is very important. Be completely objective. Don’t judge, compare, criticize, evaluate. Become more and more accustomed to listening. Listen to your body, without judging, without reference – just listen. Listen to all the situations in daily life. Listen from the whole mind, not from a mind divided by positive and negative. Look from the whole, the global.
