use the time of your life. develop your inner happiness. recognize the impermanence of all outer pleasure.
turn the clock back to find
a film that plays
with closed eyes you see it clear as day
climbing trees to unwind
the altitude eased your mind
you’re dreaming of your escape
Life has a bright side and a dark side, for the world of relativity is composed of light and shadows. If you permit your thoughts to dwell on evil, you yourself will become ugly. Look only for the good in everything so you absorb the quality of beauty.
twenty-five years ago they spoke out and they broke out
of recession and oppression and together they toked
and they folked out with guitars around a bonfire
just singin’ and clappin’ man what the hell happened
then some were spellbound some were hellbound
some they fell down and some got back up and
fought back ‘gainst the melt down
and their kids were hippie chicks all hypocrites
because fashion is smashin’ the true meaning of it
you might as well be walkin’ on the sun you might as well be walkin’ on the sun
Maturity can’t be hurried or produced on schedule. Growth takes time. We have to steep ourselves for a while, like a good cup of tea. We need to go through what’s necessary for us to endure. We need time and commitment. Probably we also need some luck.
there are things that sing
and things that bite
i’ll walk and walk til i’ve fallen
the water will drown out the din
but my ears i know they will still ring
