The soul’s first adventure is the fight between two ideas: the wish to return to earth in a human form, and the desire to feel the freedom of having no form.
in the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade
and he carries the reminder of every glove that laid him down
and cut him till he cried out in his anger and his shame

People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own two eyes. All is a miracle.
teach the gifted children
the way of men and animals
teach them about cities
the history of the mysteries
their vice and their virtues
about branches that blow in the wind
